Zing is a real zinger!
Zing is an 8 minute CGI animated video about Mr. Grimm, a little girl, and a lost cat. Share this link: https://vvn.net/zing/
Philipp Wolf (the producer) provides a synopsis: “Day in, day out, Mr. Grimm is busy with his job as the Reaper, harvesting people’s lives. One day, his monotonous existence is interrupted by the door bell. It’s a little girl. She wants her cat back. Little does she know that she’s the next life on Mr. Grimm’s list.”
The German production company (film school) Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg created the video in 2011, and released it on YouTube in 2015. The film explores life’s big questions about death. It’s understandable by a global audience — since there are no speaking parts (in any language). Yet, the film credits Katharina Dietschmann as the voice of the little girl, and Anselm Roser with the grunts of Mr. Grimm Reaper.
No real cats were killed during the making of this film – even if they have nine lives.
Kyra Buschor and Cynthia Collins created the script. They also worked on character modeling and lighting (or darkening – depending on how you look at it).
Philipp Wolf and Christian Cramer-Clausbruch were the producers. Maryna Aksenov provided the music.
