Scott Dinsmore quit a job that made him miserable, and spent the next four years wondering how to find work that was joyful and meaningful. He shares what he learned in this deceptively simple talk about finding out what matters to you — and then getting started doing it.
A friend told Scott: “Don’t worry about the work you are doing right now, just focus on building your resume.” He joined a Fortune 500 company and had big ideas and thought he was going to make a big impact on the world. However, at about 10:00AM every morning he had this strange urge to slam his head into his computer monitor. He also noticed that all the competitors (of the company he worked for) had already automated his job role.
Scott explains how he eventually found joy and meaning in his work. Watch and learn.
